The ICEMS_BIOMED conference was conceived as an itinerant one, which - at the first edition, brings together three prestigious academic institutions from Romania, which share the same values, goals and scientific concerns: Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu and “Ştefan cel Mare” University of Suceava.

The main objective of this scientific event is to create emulation in the academic world, in approaching some topics of great relevance and interest, related to the electromagnetic field and its interaction with the human body. In addition, the aim is to stimulate young researchers to disseminate their newest results and ideas among the specialists of the academic community.

The first edition took place in Sibiu in May 2022, and the next editions will take place in Cluj-Napoca (2024) and Suceava (2026).

In the future, we do have hope that other Romanian or foreign universities will adhere to the collaboration protocol that underlies this conference, which would certainly increase the scientific level and the prestige of the event.

Second edition in Cluj-Napoca

The second edition will take place in Cluj-Napoca in 2024 and will be hosted by the Technical Unicersity of Cluj-Napoca.

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, an “Advanced Research and Education” awarded university (by Order of the Ministry of National Education no 5262/September 5th, 2011), is today a tertiary education institution having a long-standing tradition as well as national and international recognition.
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca comprises twelve faculties in the two academic centres, Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, and programme locations in Alba-Iulia, Bistrita, Satu Mare and Zalau. The educational offer, aligned to the Bologna system, includes bachelors, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as life-long learning programs. These cover a wide range of domains, from engineering, architecture, fundamental sciences, to social sciences, humanities and arts. In addition to these, the Department for Continuing Education, Distance Learning and Reduced Frequency Learning organizes and conducts life-long learning activities and programs, postgraduate courses, continuous professional development programs and courses, or custom-tailored courses based on occupational standards.

With a strong belief in the value of international exchanges, The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has currently over 400 inter-university collaboration agreements and has carried out a large number of student mobilities. Opening up towards the European and global education and research, a steady process of internationalization is one of the major objectives of the university.
Alongside quality education, research is a main priority in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. There are numerous research structures, from groups and laboratories to research centers and platforms, in all faculties of the university.
Open research directions are oriented towards global priorities and perspectives: from the Information and communications technology to Renewable Energy and Ecology; from superconductivity, spintronics and nanomaterials, to management and robotics; from mechatronics and electrical engineering to the automobile and the home of the future, or to urbanism and society.
